How to travel to and around Graz
Many roads lead to Austria’s second biggest city – and there are almost as many ways to get there. For instance, Graz can conveniently be reached by train, bus, car or plane.

Graz central station offers:
- numerous day- and night-time connections as well as special offers by the ÖBB Austrian Federal Railways and Germany’s Deutsche Bahn
- services right at the station
- timetable information and tickets to Graz
- ÖBB Plus: train ride plus admission to Universalmuseum Joanneum
- Information on Grazer Linien public transport
- Bike station with bike rental service and lockers
In addition to the toll sticker for motorways and expressways, there is an additional section toll for certain segments. This toll applies to various heavily frequented alpine passes. Section toll can either be paid at the respective toll stations or via digital section toll. On section toll segments, you don’t need a general toll sticker.

Schlossbergbahn funicular & Schlossberg lift
One of the city’s most popular sights can also easily be reached by public transport, with the Schlossberg lift and Schlossbergbahn funicular taking you up Schlossberg hill in no time at all. At the top, new adventures await at Herbersteingarten or the Clock Tower.
The way up Schlossberg hill is a highlight in itself, with Schlossbergbahn funicular offering panoramic views of the UNESCO world heritage Old Town. Alternatively, Schlossberg lift offers you fascinating views of the inside of the mountain.
